The man left Asptuna prison, south of Stockholm, six days after he began serving his 14-month prison sentence. In police questioning, the man said that he “jumped over the fence” and “left there” to get closer to Norrbotten.
It's not just a small fence - you still have to make an effort, says prison director Maria Thunqvist to NSD.
The man was later arrested outside Luleå and will now serve the rest of his sentence in Umeå.
