The big question during the Grammis gala has been whether Benjamin Ingrosso would be able to repeat the feat from the P3 Gold gala in January. Then he took home all the prizes in the categories where he was nominated.
Now he was nominated in five, but the pop of the year went to Miriam Bryant and the composer of the year to Patrik Berger. Ingrosso says he is "super happy" for his three statuettes.
For ten years ago, I was at the Grammis gala and thought "one day I might also stand there on stage and receive one". This is so big for me, I would have been happy even if I hadn't won anything.
So you didn't feel any bitterness about not taking home all the prizes this time?
No no no, I'm super happy for Miriam (Bryant) and Patrik (Berger). They really deserve to win.
Little Jinder got her second Grammis ever – ten years after the first. She told in her thank-you speech how she had been waiting to experience it again.
You struggle and struggle but nobody cares. It's just fucking humiliating. We are poor troubadour farmers who travel around. Finally some recognition – I love recognition, she said.
Grammis posthumous
The murdered C Gambino received a Grammis posthumously. Instead of a thank-you speech, a symphony orchestra played a tribute to the rapper where Oscar Chase performed C.Gambino's unreleased song "Ängel". They were met with standing ovations inside Annexet in Stockholm.
The murdered rapper was also nominated for several prizes at the P3 Gold gala and in connection with this, a debate arose about whether "that type of artist" should be highlighted.
Amanda Bergman took home two Grammis, as the song of the year and the lyricist of the year.
It's often with fear and anxiety that I sit down and write a text. That's why I'm extra happy to receive this prize, she said during the thank-you speech in the latter category.
Assia Dahir and Alexander Karim led the gala. Karim has said to TT that it's important to "hold together and show that we're there for each other", something he also touched on during the gala itself.
We must never be silenced. Now we're making ourselves heard all the way to the White House, he said.
Carola honored
Carola Häggkvist was also present to receive the honorary award, her very first Grammis. The artist gave an almost complete resume of her CV during the thank-you speech, sang a snippet from Elvis Presley's "If I can dream" and thanked Lasse Holm, Monica Forsberg – and God, of course.
There's not enough time to thank everyone by name, but you know who you are, the artist said.
