The biopremiere of the second part of Kevin Costner's ambitious western epic "Horizon: An American saga" is being postponed. The visitors who saw the first part have simply been too few.
It was as recently as the end of June that "Horizon: An American saga – chapter 1" had its premiere, and the film company's idea was that part two, of the planned four, would be released when the viewers still had the first film in fresh memory.
But after the first chapter of the western saga earned a modest 23 million dollars during the first two weeks in cinemas, the distributor has changed its mind.
"Territory Pictures and New Line Cinema have decided not to release 'Horizon: Chapter 2' on August 16 to give the audience a greater opportunity to discover the first part of 'Horizon' over the coming weeks", says a spokesperson for New Line in a statement.
The first "Horizon" film, which premiered at the Cannes film festival, cost a staggering 100 million dollars to produce and Kevin Costner, who in addition to writing and directing also plays the male lead, has contributed a considerable sum from his own pocket.
