Karlskoga on top – revenge after being knocked out

Humiliated on away ground just under a month ago. Bik Karlskoga took a brutal revenge on Björklöven in the top meeting in Hockeyallsvenskan and climbed to the top of the series after a 4–1 win. "Grymt jävla skönt" (Bloody fantastic), exclaimed goalkeeper Samuel Jonsson in TV4 Play.

Already after just over eight minutes, the Värmlanders had taken a firm grip with a 2-0 lead.

Two powerplay goals, courtesy of Theodor Pistek and Jesper Norbäck, and the home team outclassed their opponents in terms of play and won the shots in the first period with 17-4.

In contrast to the meeting in Umeå just under a month ago, when "Löven" dominated everything and won with a crushing 7-1.

The numbers didn't get that big in the rematch. Karlskoga trembled after a 3-1 reduction in the third period, but Jonatan Harju settled it with 4-1 a few minutes later.

Björklöven's team captain Axel Ottosson was not merciful in his self-criticism after two periods in TV4 Play:

This is so damn bad. It can't look like this. We're playing too small with the puck, are scared and don't take charge. We're backing off and letting them play their game.

Home defenseman Henrik Larsson had a productive evening with three assists.

Bik Karlskoga took their sixth straight win and took over the league lead, one point ahead of Björklöven.

But it's tight, tight at the top. Only four points separate the league leader and fifth-place Djurgården. Last season's SHL team Oskarshamn is third and Södertälje fourth.
