Sweden is last in the group with only one point after four matches in the World Championship qualification.
Despite Monday evening's fiasco against Kosovo, 0–1 at Ullevi, it is however too early to talk about a change of national team manager, Kim Källström believes.
But he does not rule it out either.
In these situations, we need to analyze based on where we stand, he says.
I think everyone understands that it is a situation that is not particularly good. We need to step back and think and analyze. Even though it is tight in the qualification, there is time and space to analyze it calmly and find the best way forward.
”Large overall picture”
According to Kim Källström, it is not just the playing system or just Jon Dahl Tomasson that needs to be discussed. Instead, it's about taking a comprehensive approach.
It's a fairly large overall picture we need to analyze. The results, how we have played, how it works in the player group, how we see the way forward, he says.
There is an opportunity for playoffs thanks to our victory in the Nations League. There are always many scenarios. We need to think short-term and long-term at the same time.
”Major decisions”
According to Källström, the association has not yet contacted either other coaches or representatives of other coaches.
He has not talked to any of the players about how they view the national team manager issue. On the other hand, it is important to gather many different opinions, he believes.
These are major and important decisions that one does not take lightly or hastily, Källström says.
So of course, we need to take the temperature of where the players stand.
