Prior to this evening's World Championship qualifying match against Kosovo in Gothenburg, Sweden has only one point from three played matches and first place is in practice out of reach.
After the 0–2 loss against group leader Switzerland on Friday, TV4 Football Channel reported that already after Sweden's shocking 0–2 loss away against Kosovo in September, the association "has begun to explore the coaching market" to be ready to replace Jon Dahl Tomasson "depending on the outcome of the ongoing national team gathering".
It's not true, but of course, we must always think in scenarios. It's our task and there can be many scenarios all the time, says football manager Kim Källström to Viaplay before the kick-off at Ullevi.
Over the weekend, Källström came with a written statement. Then he said that "the trust in Jon Dahl Tomasson is intact".
That we receive criticism and people boo at us when we don't deliver results is part of the game and we accept that, he says to Viaplay.
Our only focus is on this match and what we can achieve and deliver today. Then we all know that there will be a tomorrow, but it's nothing we speculate about prior to this match, says Kim Källström.
