The stage in the European Song Contest has more limitations than the stage in Melodifestivalen, so it's common for artists to change their scenery when they've won the Swedish qualifying round. In KAJ's case, the sauna needs to be easy to assemble and disassemble.
It's in two parts, but we haven't seen it ourselves yet. We've heard it's going to be smaller than the sauna in Melodifestivalen, but not much smaller, says Jakob Norrgård.
In the European Song Contest, you're only allowed to have six people on stage, so one of the dancers and the backing singer in the wings have to stay home. It also means that the dancers get double roles, as they have to support the backing vocals.
It feels great, but of course it's sad that they can't come with us. We were a great gang in Melodifestivalen, says Kevin Holmström.
When Loreen competed in the European Song Contest in Liverpool, her platforms with LED screens were significantly reduced. KAJ hopes it won't have the same effect on the sauna in Basel.
We hope it doesn't feel like the number is much smaller. But actually, our number fits well into the Swiss stage. It has elements of mountains in the background, it'll look nice with the sauna, says Jakob Norrgård.
