The comedy group KAJ has hardly had a quiet moment since they landed in Switzerland on May 3. From interview to interview, via an event arranged by Sweden's and Finland's embassies to a performance at Euroclub, the official party for Eurovision.>
We created a lot of content together with other participants at Euroclub. It's great fun because otherwise there are so few opportunities to meet, says Jakob Norrgård.>
"Enormous difference"
The group hasn't had time to see much of Basel, it's interviews both on site or via link. They have thus participated in, among other things, Greek and Serbian morning TV during the week. Everyone wants a piece of the KAJ cake.>
It's a huge difference compared to how it was at Melodifestivalen, where no one wanted to talk to us during the first press conference in Malmö, says Jakob Norrgård.>
Axel Åhman fills in:>
People stood in a long queue to talk to Måns (Zelmerlöw) and we stood there alone at a table.>
But in Basel, it's different, here the group is in demand by both Swedish, Finnish and international media. They are currently number one on the odds lists and have, according to them, around 40 percent chance of taking home the victory.>
New-built sauna
So far, KAJ has mostly performed "Bara bada bastu" in live broadcasts and for invited media and embassy staff.>
They look forward to meeting the real" Eurovision audience in the semifinal.>
There, they also have a newly built sauna waiting, something less than the one in the Swedish Melodifestivalen. But KAJ themselves are satisfied with what they've seen so far during the rehearsals.>
I'm impressed by the stage in the arena. It's such an incredibly fine build and to see everything come to life in all image angles is like a dream. Everything you dreamed of when you were little and thought about how it is to be on TV, says Kevin Holmström.>
KAJ competes as the sixth contribution in Tuesday's semifinal. 10 out of 15 artists will move on to the final on Saturday, May 17.>
The group consists of Axel Åhman, Jakob Norrgård, and Kevin Holmström, all born in 1993, from the Ostrobothnian localities of Pälvis, Maxmo, and Komossa.>
They formed KAJ in 2009 and have since then released seven albums, composed two musicals, and toured in Swedish Finland.>
KAJ sings in the Vörå dialect and the songs span genres such as pop, rap, disco, and schlager. They also have a side project together, the rockabilly band Vörjeans.>
