Junior Marques Lerin Exits Let's Dance at Quarterfinals

"Let's dance" has reached the quarterfinals and the dance couples took us on a journey back to past decades. Despite unusually much praise from the jury, it was ultimately Manoel "Junior" Marques Lerin who had to leave the competition.

The best nostalgic trip was made by Carolina Klüft and her dance partner Hugo Gustafsson in their emotional contemporary to Sinéad O'Connor's "Nothing compares 2 U", according to the jury.

Junior Marques Lerin also received praise for his lyrical jazz, which he danced to Alphaville's "Forever young" – a song that took Junior back to his youth in Brazil.

David Lindgren also moved on the dance floor with his samba to Shakira's "Hips don't lie". And they didn't, Lindgren received standing ovations from the audience and praise from Tony Irving for his hip moves.

Round two of the evening consisted of a dance battle where the couples faced each other two by two, with six points at stake.

Theo Haraldsson was pitted against Perla Malmberg and emerged victorious from the battle. The evening's two dominants, David Lindgren and Carolina Klüft, ended up in the "death group", where it was ultimately the former OS gold medalist who took home the six-pointer with her tango.

The final duel between athlete Ferry Svan and "Junior" Marques Lerin was won by the latter, but when the viewer votes were counted together with the jury points, it was still "Junior" who had to leave the program.
