A judge at a court in the Stockholm area came to work intoxicated – and with several knives in his pockets. He is now being prosecuted for violating the knife law, reports Dagens Juridik.
The incident occurred in the spring, when the police were alerted to the court regarding a man who was "noticeably affected by alcohol". The man, who turned out to be a judge, was taken into custody according to LOB – the law on the custody of intoxicated persons – and had, among other things, several pocket knives on him.
”He couldn't walk on his own. I had to hold him. I let go of him at one point and then he almost fell backwards”, says an employee at the court according to the preliminary investigation.
The judge has admitted to the crime, but claims that he brought the knives by mistake. According to the preliminary investigation, the judge did not move around in the parts of the court where the public had access.
