In Expressen, Åkesson asks the rhetorical question of why anyone should vote for the Sweden Democrats (SD) instead of the Moderates (M) if the centre-right parties are perceived as equally good on issues where the SD has taken the lead.
"My view is that this paradox is the main reason why we lost the election," writes Åkesson.
He wants the SD to maintain its "strong position" on migration and crime policy while strengthening its profile on welfare and economic policy.
The reshuffle in the SD parliamentary group is a completely natural measure after an election that did not go as well as expected, Åkesson writes.
