In August last year, the original members of the 90's band Jane's Addiction went on their first tour in 14 years. But the reunion came to an abrupt end just three weeks later when the singer Perry Farrell attacked the guitarist Dave Navarro on stage in Boston.
Now Navarro and the other two members Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins are suing the singer, who they accuse of, among other things, drunkenness, assault, abuse and breach of contract.
According to the lawsuit, the cancelled tour and the dissolution of the band have cost the group over 10 million dollars in lost revenue, and Farrell is urged to pay the band's all unpaid invoices.
But now Perry Farrell and his wife Etty Lau Farrell are counter-suing, where the blame for the band's conflict is directed at the three band members. They are accused of having harassed and bullied the singer for many years.
"Among other things, by trying to sabotage him by playing their instruments at such high volume that he could not hear himself sing", it says in the application for lawsuit.
Farrell claims that the rest of the band cancelled the tour without his knowledge, which caused a significant loss of revenue.
Jane's Addiction was formed in the mid-1980s, but had their great successes in the early 90's with songs like "Jane says" and "Been caught stealing" before the group went their separate ways in 1991.
