The American film director James Foley has passed away, 71 years old, reports Hollywood Reporter. In his early career, he collaborated with Madonna and made music videos for her hit songs "Live to tell" (1986), "Papa don't preach" (1986) and "True blue" (1986), then under the pseudonym Peter Percher.
He also directed the romantic comedy "Who's that girl" (1987) where Madonna played one of the leading roles.
In the 90s, he jumped in as a guest director in the TV series "Twin peaks" and made one of "House of cards". Among his later films, notable are "Glengary Glenn Ross" with Al Pacino, as well as two sequels to "Fifty shades of gray": "Fifty shades darker" and "Fifty shades freed".
James Foley passed away in brain cancer at his home in Los Angeles, according to his spokesperson.
