On Friday, the Swedish Olympic Committee will nominate a further group of athletes who will be packing for the Games in Milano-Cortina.
Whether Jakobsen's name will be included remains to be seen. The results, or rather the lack thereof this winter, speak against him getting an Olympic ticket already.
The 31-year-old has had a really tough season in the Alpine World Cup so far - and hasn't picked up a single point in five slalom competitions.
Results so far: First runs in Madonna, Val d'Isère and Gurgl. In Alta Badia and Levi he did not qualify among the top 30 to advance to the second run.
The chance for points was in Madonna, where he took one of the four podium finishes of his career when he came third in December 2021.
He barely made the top 30, in 29th place, but after a promising effort in the second run a pole struck his face.
Swedes Fabian Ax Swartz, William Hansson and Adam Hofstedt did not qualify for the second run.
Finn Eduard Hallberg, 22, led after the first run but was unable to hold on to his first career World Cup victory.
He finished second, beaten by Frenchman Clément Noël.
