A technical fault caused the Health and Care Inspectorate, Ivo, to disclose confidential information. This is shown by an investigation conducted by Sveriges Radio's Ekot.

A digital tool is supposed to mask names and sensitive information, from among other things healthcare and social services, which are to be secrecy-tested before being disclosed. But on several occasions, it has not worked, according to Ekot's investigation.

The secrecy leak was discovered when Ekot requested documents regarding families who had been subject to social services' interventions, where it turned out that both addresses and names were unmasked.

Ivo has reported this and another incident to the Integrity Protection Authority, but according to Ekot's investigation, the error has been known to the authority for a longer period without being addressed.

In an email to Ekot, Ivo states that the error is due to an unfortunate combination of a known flaw in the technical system and the human factor, and that it has now been addressed.
