Gvili is the only one of the hostages held in the Gaza Strip who has not been returned.
Israel has demanded that all hostages be handed over before the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt is opened, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday evening that the crossing will be opened, at least to a limited extent, as soon as Gvili's remains are found.
Israel says it has received information about the whereabouts of the remains of imprisoned Hamas members. However, the location is inside the Yellow Line, the border from which Israeli soldiers withdrew in accordance with the first phase of the peace plan.
