The operation reportedly took place on Saturday in the part of southern Syria where Israel has military forces in a self-proclaimed security zone.
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said on Saturday that the intention is for Israeli forces to remain in Syria, Lebanon and Gaza "indefinitely."
