Israel shot down a missile fired from Yemen late on Friday local time, according to the country's military.
This is the fourth rocket fired from Yemen towards Israel since Tuesday, when Houthi rebels threatened to escalate attacks on Israel in support of Palestinians after Israel's renewed attacks in Gaza.
Early on Saturday, local time, the Iran-backed movement stated that it had "targeted Ben Gurion Airport" near Tel Aviv during the attack and that Israeli airspace would remain insecure "until the aggression against Gaza ceases".
In the statement, the Houthi movement also claimed to have attacked several American warships with drones and simultaneously accused the US of having carried out "multiple raids" against Yemen during the night towards Saturday.
Earlier, Houthi-controlled media in Yemen reported attacks on Saada and blamed "American aggression". The US launched heavy attacks on the Houthi movement in Yemen last week and President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the movement "will be completely destroyed".
