A press release on the Swedish Football Association's website states that the captain has suffered an injury. It should not affect his participation in the World Cup.
"Victor felt something after yesterday's training. With the World Cup opener around the corner, we don't want to take any risks and therefore are letting him sit out today's match. He is expected to be back in training within a few days," says national coach Graham Potter in a press release.
Otherwise, Graham Potter makes seven changes to the starting eleven compared with the 1-3 loss to Norway. The players who now get the chance to prove themselves are Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Alexander Bernhardsson, Mattias Svanberg, Benjamin Nygren, Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyökeres.
Sweden's starting eleven:
Kristoffer Nordfeldt – Alexander Bernhardsson, Gustaf Lagerbielke, Isak Hien, Daniel Svensson, Gabriel Gudmundsson – Mattias Svanberg, Yasin Ayari, Benjamin Nygren – Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyökeres.
