"We got what we wanted: a relatively difficult shot on the last stone. And to put it in and roar out like that... well, it's absolutely incredible," says Rasmus Wranå to SVT after the gold drama.
Hours after the magical triple, the siblings showed that the best thing about it was the day when the Swedish Olympic team became two gold, one silver and one bronze richer.
Also, to spice things up: With the final victory in the mixed doubles, Swedish curling now has Olympic gold in all three disciplines.
High up on one short side of the curling hall, mom Monica and dad Mats, devoted curlers who got their children into the sport, followed the drama.
Because that was it.
The winning strokes
One of the shots that stood out: When Isabella coldly gave Sweden a 3-2 lead halfway through the final - a situation when the USA had the chance to pick up four points.
With the hammer, she calmly and perfectly placed the winning stone.
Another: Rasmus ended up in the same situation when he caressed the stone that made it 1–0. One miss and Korey Dropkin and Cory Thiesse had made it 3–0.
And then the most important thing, the winning thing: When Isabella Wranå pushed in the last stone of the match.
The gold stone.
"So damn cool. Those who know me know that it's a shot I want. I felt pretty safe," she told SVT after the gold was secured.
Coach Andreas Prytz compared it afterwards to the penalty kick in football:
"I love them in football too. It's a bit the same," he said - but added that he felt bad about the last end.
National team captain Alison Kreviazuk was equally impressed:
"For the last stone, you need to calm down and play it. She did that incredibly well; it's impressive," she said.
Later this evening, the Swedish Olympic Committee will host the customary medal party. Cake and various other treats will be waiting for the medalists at Hotel Menardi.
For Rasmus, the celebration will be short and restrained. On Wednesday evening, a tough situation awaits him again down on the ice.
New gold hunt
Then he, Niklas Edin, Oskar Eriksson and Christoffer Sundgren will embark on a journey with a clear end goal:
A second - and consecutive - Olympic gold medal. Italy awaits in the opening match.
Isabella Wranå can breathe a sigh of relief and fully absorb the biggest and most exciting week of her career.
But in just a month, the second big task of the season awaits - the World Championships in Calgary, Canada. For the first time, Team Wranå from Sundbybergs CK is competing in the championship.
