"Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian met with Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei and spoke with him on the occasion of the beginning of his third year as president (at the end of July)," a statement from the presidential office said.
The two are said to have “discussed in detail the country’s affairs and problems,” including the “current military situation and future prospects.”
It was not stated exactly when the meeting took place.
Earlier this week, Pezeshkian said it is "currently very difficult to communicate with" Khamenei, who was injured on February 28 in connection with the killing of his father. There has been speculation about his health since then.
