Iran has paid a very high price for its peaceful uranium-enrichment program, he said in a speech in Tehran.
He asked a rhetorical question about why the country persists with enrichment despite threats of a "forced war," and answered:
Because no one has the right to decide our actions.
In a post on Telegram, he also criticized the US president for trying to impose his will on the country through his power, and claimed that in this new reality Iran must resist and build its strength.
The statements come two days after talks between the US and Iran concluded in Oman.
