On Monday, the IAEA's board meeting begins in Vienna. Prior to the meeting, there are reports that France, the United Kingdom, and Germany will jointly submit a draft resolution that Iran does not fulfill its obligations, said a high-ranking diplomat to the news agency AP recently.
The diplomat called the resolution a "serious step", but added that one "does not close the door for diplomacy in the matter".
The purpose of the resolution is that Iran should solve the issue, said the diplomat.
Last week, a report from the IAEA was released where Iran was criticized for not cooperating sufficiently, not least when it comes to traces of nuclear substances found at certain facilities.
Iran has dismissed the report as politically motivated.
On Sunday, Behrouz Kamalvandi, the spokesperson for the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, said to state television that if the IAEA adopts a resolution against Iran, it will have negative consequences. According to him, the IAEA should not then expect Iran to "continue its open and friendly cooperation".
