The group's headquarters are said to be in Sulaymaniyah in Iraqi Kurdistan.
The Iranian regime accuses armed Kurdish groups of acting on behalf of Western or Israeli interests and classifies them as terrorist organizations. Since the start of the Iran-Iraq war, and despite the ceasefire announced in April, Iran has repeatedly attacked the groups.
