Iran's Revolutionary Guard threatens to carry out a "crushing attack" on Israel if the archenemy dares to avenge Tuesday evening's attack.
"If the Zionist regime reacts to the Iranian operation, they will be met with a crushing attack," says the Revolutionary Guard in a statement conveyed by the Fars news agency, which is controlled by the Revolutionary Guard.
According to the Revolutionary Guard, the attack was carried out in accordance with the UN Charter and was implemented after "a period of restraint" following "an attack on Iran's sovereignty", which refers to the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in July.
The US stated on Tuesday that Iran can expect consequences after its attack on Israel and that the US will coordinate its response with Israel.
Of course, this attack must have consequences for Iran, said American State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller to reporters.
He did not want to specify what kind of consequences it might entail.
I'm not going to go into what the consequences are today. But there are things we will collaborate with our Israeli counterparts on, said Miller.
