Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claims that the country is no longer secretly enriching uranium at any location in the country. The reason is that enrichment facilities “have been attacked.”

This is the first time that such a high-ranking Iranian representative has commented on the US attacks on suspected nuclear facilities during the war between Iran and Israel in June – albeit in indirect terms.

"There is no undeclared uranium enrichment in Iran. All our facilities are under control and audited by the (UN Atomic Energy Agency) IAEA," Araghchi claimed in response to a question from the AP news agency.

The Foreign Minister reiterates Iran's demand for the right to enrich uranium for civilian purposes in any talks with, among others, the United States:

We never give up that right.
