"To further reduce the gaps, Washington must stop being tempted to go to war," ISNA writes further.
The news agency does not specify where the information comes from.
The statement comes in connection with Pakistan's army chief, Asim Munir, visiting Tehran on Thursday. Pakistan is acting as a mediator in the war between the US and Iran.
Earlier on Thursday morning, Iran was reported to be reviewing the latest U.S. proposal to end the war in the Middle East.
However, according to two senior Iranian sources, Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei has issued a directive that Iran's highly enriched uranium should not be sent abroad, Reuters writes.
That stance could further complicate talks to end the war.
According to Israeli officials, the United States has assured Israel that a peace agreement will include a clause requiring the highly enriched uranium, which could be turned into nuclear weapons, to be sent out of Iran.
However, according to sources, Iranian representatives are concerned that Iran would become more vulnerable to future attacks from the US and Israel without its highly enriched uranium.
