The so-called information obligation was hammered out by the Riksdag on Monday and will come into effect on July 13. The six authorities are the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, the Swedish Enforcement Authority, the Swedish Pensions Agency and the Swedish Tax Agency.
"I welcome that the Riksdag adopted the government's proposal for increased information exchange to reduce the inhumane shadow society. I particularly note that the Social Democrats chose once again to vote together with V, MP and C on migration policy," says Migration Minister Johan Forssell in a statement to TT.
V and MP were against the proposal. S and C wanted to raise the bar for when the authorities are obliged to sound the alarm: from there being "reason" to assume that a foreign person does not have the right to reside in Sweden, to there being "strong reasons" to assume this is the case.
