Behind the increase lies primarily that more children than before receive compensation.

Since 2015, the total number of people with state assistance allowance has decreased, despite the influx of new recipients increasing slightly in recent years.

However, a trend break occurred last year, according to the Social Insurance Agency.

After a legislative change in 2023, more children have applied for and received the allowance, which led to the total figure increasing for the first time last year.

Last year, more than 13,340 had state assistance allowance, an increase of approximately 60 people compared to 2023.
