Before the match, Blåvitt's coach Stefan Billborn chose to make four changes to the starting eleven compared with the heavy 4-0 loss to Malmö FF.
The changes had no immediate effect, but the team still had good chances to finally secure its first home win of the season.
That can be attributed to Mads Hansen's brain fade. The Dane was shown a red card after a situation in which he first received a free kick in a duel with Noah Tolf and then kicked the Blåvitt defender straight in the chest in the follow-up.
“Fucking surprised”
"I'm still a little sore. I was just really surprised that he even thought about kicking me. It's so unnecessary and I don't understand why he's doing that," Tolf told TV4 Play during the break.
The score was 0-0 at half-time, but Blåvitt got off to a dream start in the second half. From a corner, Rockson Yeboah appeared in the penalty area and headed in the opening goal to make it 1-0. Yeboah roared with joy after the goal. The young centre-back has been questioned during the season after a couple of mistakes that led to goals conceded.
Shortly afterwards, however, the cold shower came. Brommapojkarna's midfield star Oliver Berg silenced the crowd with his equaliser.
IFK Göteborg responded by bringing on homecoming and new signing Sam Larsson, which had an effect. Larsson fumbled and dithered in the penalty area before the ball ended up with Sebastian Clemmensen, who scored the winning goal with just over ten minutes left to play.
I don't understand. You don't even have a stand when you're back? Absolutely weak. No, but the way we've been lately, it's been very nice. We're going to turn this around, believe me, says Sam Larsson.
A long-awaited home victory for Blåvitt, who had not won at home in the Allsvenskan since last autumn. In addition, they now move out of the relegation play-off place in the table.
Stroud's last match?
In parallel, the reigning champions Mjällby played to a 0-0 draw at home against Västerås.
Swedish World Cup player Elliot Stroud is reportedly set for Hull in the Premier League, and reports in British media have claimed that this was the winger's last match for the club.
According to the English radio station Talksport, Mjällby will receive three million pounds (approximately 39 million kronor) for Stroud.
Mjällby are lagging badly in the table, are tenth and have not won in the Allsvenskan since May 9. Västerås is seventh.
