The move comes after the union decided last spring to call off the long-running strike in several locations across the country. Now these mechanics are going on strike again because the parties have not been able to reach an agreement.
"Despite lengthy negotiations, we have unfortunately not managed to reach an agreement with TM Sweden AB. TM Sweden AB has given notice that it does not intend to sign a collective agreement for its operations," the union writes to the Swedish Mediation Institute, according to the newspaper.
According to Dagens Arbete, the industrial action involves a blockade of all work at Tesla's workshops in Malmö, Umeå, Uppsala, Upplands Väsby, Segeltorp and Huddinge starting on August 13.
IF Metall has not commented on the decision to the newspaper.
