In total, the indictment against the 18-year-old in Umeå District Court includes 77 criminal charges. The acts are said to have been committed online, against people in various places in Sweden and other parts of the world.

The young man is identified as a leader within 764, an extremist, violence-promoting network founded in 2021 by American Bradley Cadenhead. Around 764 there are a large number of affiliated networks, of which the so-called No Lives Matter is perhaps the best known.

"The defendant is a high-profile figure within 'The Com', which consists of several loosely organized, violence-promoting networks on the internet, including 764," prosecutor Jenny Östling said in a comment.

Serious crimes

The 18-year-old man has been in custody for more than a year. He was arrested at a school in Umeå last spring and, as recently as 2024, he was sentenced to youth supervision after subjecting a minor boy to online abuse.

The 18-year-old is being charged, among other things, with his involvement in a high-profile knife attack in the Stockholm suburb of Hässelby last year. A 14-year-old boy stabbed a pensioner in the back and filmed the incident. The 18-year-old is suspected of orchestrating the attack in real time.

The man is also suspected of causing a girl in Australia to harm herself and urging her to commit suicide. The district court will also consider whether the man can be convicted of causing a man in Germany to harm himself on two occasions, so seriously that he nearly died.

Several convicted

The suspected crimes were committed during the period January 2023 to February 2025. The 18-year-old man denies the crime.

Several members of the 764 movement in various countries around the world have been sentenced to prison for, among other things, murder, terrorist crimes and sexual abuse of children.

The self-proclaimed internet cult 764 was founded by then-teenager Bradley Cadenhead in 2021 and is named after his mailing address in his hometown of Stephenville, Texas.

The founder is currently serving an 80-year prison sentence for child pornography crimes.

Young boys and men in several countries have, in the name of the movement, groomed, sexually exploited and blackmailed children, carried out several unprovoked knife attacks and at least one murder. At least 50 chat groups are or have been active on the platforms Discord and Telegram, but members have hunted victims on everything from Minecraft and Roblox to forums for people with eating disorders and self-harm.

No Lives Matter (NLM) is an ideological and violence-prone subculture that has been linked to several knife attacks around the world, including in Sweden.

The group advocates extreme nihilism and urges its followers to commit violent crimes to create chaos and destabilize society. Members glorify violence and use social media to spread manifestos and plan attacks, according to Expo.
