Björs studied at Konstfack and has worked with picture books, illustration, painting and textiles since 1999.
"For me, communication takes place in images. I want to investigate what happens to a story when it is not given and the viewer is completely free to interpret it," says Ida Björs in a press release.
The jury particularly highlights her engaging imagery.
"She impresses with her sense of color and composition, but above all with her empathetic way of drawing people," says jury chair Sara R Acedo.
The prize is named after illustrator Lennart Elworth, creator of "47:an Löken".
