The premiere broadcast, which took place on the morning of Hungary's National Day on August 20, was balanced according to the independent news site Telex. However, earlier this week, Telex criticized the fact that people who "previously produced propaganda" remain among its employees.
It was on July 7 that M1 suspended its broadcasts, after Magyar promised to tackle the propaganda broadcasts under the rule of his predecessor Viktor Orbán.
"Public service should not lie. We are sorry that we have done it for so long," read a message in the box from M1.
