The dolls are shown in videos on social media and have become incredibly popular around the world during the year. Limited access and the great global hype have now led to a high demand on the second-hand market.
During the first half of August, the sales of Labubu auctions on Tradera increased by 177 percent, compared to the entire month of June.
It's a hype that has really taken off this summer and comes from nowhere. In recent weeks, the supply has increased significantly and so have the final prices, says Sofia Hagelin, communications manager at Tradera.
The average price of a doll is 700 kronor. The most expensive doll sold on Tradera went for 6,000 kr.
As the demand has increased, so has the number of fake copies, so-called Lafufus. According to Sofia Hagelin, Tradera is working continuously to remove them from the site.
We have a security department and a team that constantly keeps track and cleans up such things from the site, she says.
