An EU center for combating hostile drones - and support for the development of Europe's own drone industry. The European Commission has presented an action plan against drone threats.

Closed airspace and police on alert. During the autumn, drone violations were reported from a number of EU countries, including Germany, Belgium and Denmark.

According to the action plan now presented by the European Commission, a voluntary "anti-drone system" is to be created, which is intended to help countries prevent drone threats and respond to them when violations occur.

Furthermore, a center of excellence for counter-drone operations will be opened and the European drone market will be strengthened.

"We have seen that everything can be used as a weapon against us. Drones and anti-drone capabilities are central components in the defense of Europe," says Commissioner Henna Virkkunen in a press release.
