Saudi forces on Monday destroyed drones heading toward oil facilities in the eastern part of the country, according to the Defence Ministry, which said the drones were sent by an Iran-backed group in Iraq.

No injuries have been reported, either from that attack or the drone strike that the Iran-backed Houthi movement claims to have carried out just days after a similar attack on oil facilities on the Red Sea.

According to Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree, the attack was a response to “Saudi drone intrusions” into Yemeni airspace.
