Households are holding on to their wallets tighter

Swedish households spend less. According to new statistics from Statistics Sweden (SCB), household consumption decreased by 0.6 per cent in June compared to the previous month.

Compared to June last year, consumption decreased by 1.4 per cent, the preliminary figures show.

Primarily, it is the category of transport and retail trade with a focus on vehicles, as well as vehicle maintenance, that has decreased the most – down 0.7 per cent compared to May and down 9.2 per cent compared to last year.
