"This is a step in the right direction and it is beneficial for us," he tells TT.

As of July 1, a customs fee of 3 euros, approximately 33 kronor, will be introduced when you order an item worth up to 150 euros. This applies when you shop online and the item is shipped from a country outside the EU.

"We are in a better position to be more competitive when there is no longer a subsidy for competitors who have not had to pay the same tariffs as we have," says Ervér.

How much could the new customs duty affect your sales?

"It also depends on how the customer chooses to act, so it's difficult to speculate."

If the online store is not connected to IOSS (Import One Stop Shop), the buyer must pay customs duties and VAT when the goods are brought into Sweden.

If goods arrive in the EU and are declared for import after June 30, a customs fee will be charged, regardless of when you placed your order.

The Council of the European Union has decided on the new customs duty and it will apply throughout the EU.
