The fastest way to travel between Stockholm and Gothenburg is to take the high-speed train. At least if you count the passenger's total travel time between city centers, writes SJ in a press release.
SJ has published a report, based on data from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), which has also taken into account the time that air travelers normally have to spend on terminals and connecting journeys to get between the airport and city center.
Last year, the train was 9 minutes faster than flying between city centers on the Stockholm-Gothenburg route.
The comparison of travel time has also been made on journeys between Stockholm and Umeå, Sundsvall, and Malmö. On the three routes, flying was faster. On the Stockholm-Umeå route, flying was over three hours faster, on the Stockholm-Sundsvall route 15 minutes faster, and between Stockholm and Malmö it was approximately 50 minutes faster by air.
