On Saturday, SMHI announced that there is a risk of grass fires in northeastern Dalarna and in large parts of Norrland where there is no snow. The fire risk is also reported to be high in parts of Stockholm County and Uppland.
On Sunday, the area will be expanded to also apply to large parts of Svealand and Gotland.
Then it will be a little sunnier in these areas and the wind will increase, says Linnéa Rehn Wittskog, meteorologist at SMHI, and she continues:
The wind increases the risk of spreading. The sun is very important; if the weather is dry and sunny, last year's grass dries out and becomes easily flammable.
