The high jumper made a splash last year when she took bronze at the European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.
Nilsson's season continued in impressive style - but in February it came to a halt. She revealed that she had suffered from an eating disorder.
On Sunday, the 21-year-old was back at a competition in Germany. She cleared 1.85, which gave her sixth place.
"I'm mostly happy with the feeling today. The altitude is what it is, but the feeling I had today is something I haven't felt in a very long time. I'm so happy that I feel strong again too," says Engla Nilsson in a press release.
The high jumper's next competition will be in Brno, Czech Republic, on Thursday.
