The Riksdag will vote on Thursday on increased requirements for family immigration. A united opposition hopes to vote down key parts of the government's bill.
Wednesday's debate was heated.
"With these rule changes, people in Sweden will end up in abortion or deportation. It's true," said MP Haddou (V).

“Disgusting”
Moderate MP Viktor Wärnick protested against the tone of the debate.
"It's disgusting," he said.
It is reasonable to support your family if you want them in Sweden.
The proposed increased requirements apply to foreigners with temporary residence permits. According to the proposal, it will be checked whether the maintenance requirements are met each time a permit is extended. This may have consequences for family members who have their permits linked to the so-called sponsoring person.
The opposition warns that someone in a family may have to be deported if the circumstances of the person concerned have changed when the residence permit is to be extended, for example if they have lost their job or had another child.
“Is cruel”
This policy is cruel, said MP Ola Möller (S).
It builds deportations into the legislation itself as a recurring element.
The government also proposes that immigration for relatives of people with temporary residence permits should only be granted after the so-called related person has been in Sweden for at least two years.
The opposition pointed out that this is a long time to wait to be reunited with one's family.
Moderate Viktor Wärnick emphasized that it is important to introduce the new requirements so that Sweden does not become a more attractive country for migrants seeking refuge in than other EU countries.
