The Riksdag will vote on Thursday on increased requirements for family immigration. A united opposition hopes to vote down important parts of the bill.
Wednesday's debate ahead of the decision was heated from the start.
"With these rule changes, people in Sweden will end up in abortion or deportation. It's true," said MP Haddou (V).

Moderate MP Viktor Wärnick protested against the debate style.

The government has proposed increased support requirements and that they should apply every time a foreigner with a temporary residence permit needs to extend it.
The opposition warns that people will suffer unreasonable consequences if their lives have changed when the residence permit is to be extended, for example losing their job or having another child.
"Cruel"

The government also proposes that immigration for relatives of people with temporary residence permits should only be granted after the so-called related person has been in Sweden for at least two years.
Moderate Viktor Wärnick emphasized that it is important to introduce the new requirements so that Sweden does not become a more attractive country for migrants to seek refuge in than other EU countries.
