Henrik Dahlström describes the week as a heavy one, filled with sorrow after Tuesday's mass shooting.
But also a week of determination, he says at a press conference on Sunday.
Within a few minutes after the first alarm, the police were on the scene and were met with gunfire – an hour later, the suspected perpetrator was found dead in the school's premises.
I am convinced that our actions have affected the course of events and interrupted the deadly violence, says Henrik Dahlström.
"Work with full force"
He describes the operation as complex and challenging. For a long time, it was unclear how many perpetrators were on the scene. Exactly how long the shooting lasted is not yet clear.
But we have a fairly good picture of the course of events as we perceive it, says Dahlström.
The police have previously confirmed that the suspected perpetrator is a 35-year-old man who also died in the shooting. The man, who was from Örebro, attended Risbergska school.
There are still question marks surrounding the motive behind the shooting.
We have and will continue to work with full force to clarify the motive and the course of events, says Henrik Dahlström.
No one will forget
According to the police, a new phase of their work is now beginning, where, among other things, belongings left in the school will be returned and the security-enhancing work around the city will be done in collaboration with the municipality.
As you understand, it's 17,000 square meters with 400 or more students leaving in panic, it's a lot to handle, says Henrik Dahlström.
Ten people were killed in the mass shooting at Campus Risbergska on Tuesday – seven women and three men, all from Örebro county. The suspected perpetrator is also dead.
This week and this day will not be forgotten by anyone who worked, says Henrik Dahlström.
