After winning the sprint on Friday, Hanna Öberg went out with an eight-second lead over Jeanmonnot - but a total of three errors in the prone shooting meant that her first career World Cup victory in the pursuit came to naught.
Lou Jeanmonnot of France won by 10.5 seconds over Hanna Öberg after only one miss.
It was a competition where things went both up and down. The second prone shooting was bad, but I'm happy with how I fought back after that, did two very good standing series and got on the podium, Hanna Öberg tells SVT.
She shot clean in both of her standing series.
“Feels just right”
The competition was her last before the Olympics in Milan-Cortina. Like her sister Elvira Öberg, tenth on Sunday, she is skipping next weekend's World Cup in Nove Mesto to train at high altitude in Livigno, Italy.
It feels right to go up to high altitude and get a good recharge. I'm looking forward to it. I'm super happy with this weekend. Now the focus is fully on the Olympics, Hanna Öberg says.
It could have been a more Swedish podium in Ruhpolding.
"Damn it"
Elvira Öberg was second and Anna Magnusson was third with one standing shooting left to go.
But both of them missed two shots in the final round and finished tenth and eleventh respectively.
"Damn, it's so bad to end up second. If there had been a first place, I would have fought for the podium," Elvira Öberg tells SVT.
Elvira Öberg still goes to the Olympics with positive feelings.
"I've done a lot of good things since Christmas; it's still a step in the right direction compared to before Christmas. I'm in a good place to find something good next month," Elvira Öberg says.
Instead, there were two French women on the podium as Camille Bened finished third, 12.9 seconds from victory.
