Hammarby Stages Comeback Win to Stay in Allsvenskan Title Race

At halftime, BP led 2–0. But then Hammarby made four substitutions, came to life, and were able to turn the match into a win in the second half. I'm feeling best right now, it feels incredibly nice, says the goalscorer Montader Madjed to HBO Max.

The reduction came ten minutes into the second half. After a tangled situation where Leo Cavallius in the BP goal missed the ball, Nahir Besara could head it in. On the replay images, Besara seemed to be offside, but the goal was approved by the referee team.

The equalizer came a quarter of an hour later, when Kevin Ackermann made an own goal after a Hammarby corner.

In the 77th minute, the winning goal also came. Montader Madjed then slammed in a rebound to the great joy of the home crowd, and wrote the final result to 3–2.

It felt like it would be difficult to come back, but we believed in it fully and came out with a lot of energy in the second half. After a minute of the second half, I felt that we would turn this around, says Madjed to HBO Max.

Adam Jakobsen made BP's two goals, but they would prove to be meaningless.

It's tough. We make a good first half, but have the margins against us, says BP's coach Ulf Kristiansson.

The victory means that Hammarby is hanging on in the Allsvenskan top, where the first-placed Mjällby won against AIK earlier on Sunday.

"Bajen" is now four points behind Mjällby. BP is tenth.

The parallel meeting between Halmstad and Häcken ended goalless, 0–0, at Örjans Vall.

Halmstad is eleventh, Häcken eighth.
