Hammarby Criticizes Rosengård's Participation in Estoril Tournament

Hammarby is furious about FC Rosengård's decision to participate in the new lucrative seven-a-side tournament in Estoril during the ongoing Damallsvenskan season. We talked about it today and everyone is completely unanimous. This is ridiculous, says Adrian von Heijne, technical director of the league leaders, to Aftonbladet.

Von Heijne does not think that Malmö team's attempt to move the home match against BK Häcken on May 24 should be approved by the Swedish Football Association (SvFF). World Sevens is held in Estoril, Portugal, May 21-23.

It's directly unserious, of course. To move a match to participate in this type of activity. We think that the competitions that Swedish teams participate in at club level are organized by the Swedish Football Association and Uefa (European Football Association), says Adrian von Heijne to Aftonbladet.

According to Expressen, which has been in contact with SvFF, no official application for match move has yet been received by the association.

We have been in contact with Häcken, who of course absolutely thought we should participate. So we are working on moving the match, said Rosengård's chairman Håkan Wifvesson to Sydsvenskan on Tuesday.

The winner of World Sevens receives the equivalent of 25 million kronor. Eight teams participate, including Manchester City, Bayern München and Rosengård.
