All three are men: Argentine-Israeli Yair Horen, 46, Russian-Israeli Sasha Trufanov, 29, and 36-year-old Sagui Dekel-Chen, who is an Israeli and American citizen.

Earlier on Friday, the Islamist movement Islamic Jihad, which also took hostages during the October 7 attack on Israel, announced that they would release an Israeli hostage on Saturday. The news agency Efe reports that it concerns Sasha Trufanov.

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and the terrorist-stamped Hamas stipulates that three hostages will be released from captivity in Gaza on Saturday. However, during the week, both parties have leveled various accusations against each other, and the weekend's exchange has thus hung by a thread. Israel has threatened Hamas to resume arms if the hostages are not released as agreed on Saturday.
