At the start of the second half, the Swede fired a shot from outside the box that found its way into the net behind Guglielmo Vicario in the Spurs' goal.
Gyökeres's goal made it 2–1 to Arsenal, after goals from Eberechi Eze and Randal Kolo Muani in the first half. A few minutes later, Eze added a goal to make it 3–1.
In the final minutes, Gyökeres scored his second goal when he held off Archie Gray and placed the ball into the net.
The victory was important for Arsenal in the battle for the top spot, after Manchester City had started to close in. But with the win, Arsenal again lead the league by five points.
Tottenham is in sixteenth place.
With Alexander Isak and Dejan Kulusevski injured, Gyökeres looks set to be the biggest star available for Sweden in the World Cup playoffs in March.
