In the morning, Graham Potter became the Swedish national team manager for men's football. In the evening, his old protégé Tom Pettersson became Swedish champion with little Mjällby. It's incredibly fun for Swedish football that he has that job, says Pettersson.

After Jacob Bergström scored the leading goal away against IFK Göteborg, Tom Petterson added to the score with 2–0.

Barely an hour and a half later, Mjällby's gold party could begin at Gamla Ullevi.

It's hard to explain what happens on the inside of one. It has been a childhood dream for as long as one has memories, says Pettersson.

He has won the Swedish cup with IFK Göteborg (2015) and Östersund (2017) as well as reached the European League finals with the Jämtland club. Nothing can be compared to Mjällby's SM gold.

This is absolutely the biggest thing I've been a part of in my career and will probably be that too, says Pettersson.

In Östersund, he had Graham Potter as coach. On Monday morning, the Englishman was presented as the new Swedish national team coach after Jon Dahl Tomasson was fired last week.

Yes, you can have worse Mondays. It's incredibly fun for Swedish football that he has that job.

How many players should Potter select from the Swedish championship team Mjällby?

There's a gang that's been relevant before, it's probably Noel (Törnqvist) (Elliot) Stroud, Herman (Johansson) and Axel (Norén), says Petterson.

Will he select Tom Pettersson?

No, I don't think you make your national team debut at 35 years old. But I promise I'll be sitting at home on the couch and keeping my fingers crossed, of course.

Many didn't believe in the SM gold for Mjällby either?

No, but that was reasonable. This (national team debut) just sounds unreasonable.
